Summary: IPTABLES -D -j INPUT_CHAIN hangs and needs a reboot of
                    the system
           Product: iptables
           Version: 1.3.1
          Platform: x86_64
        OS/Version: SuSE Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: iptables
        AssignedTo: laforge at netfilter.org
        ReportedBy: iamvnraju at gmail.com

This is a part of the codebase of a Voip server product where in we do a
system("IPTABLES -D OUTPUT -j INPUT_CHAIN"); when the server is shutting down,
and this call sometimes hangs.
my iptables version is 1.3.1 and my Linux kernel version is 2.6.18.2-34.
Is this a known issue which has been fixed? If the case is affirmative, then
please give me some information about the patch, fixing this issue.
Any pointers to what could be the issue would be of great help.

regards,
Raju
