Summary: quota match: working or not?
           Product: netfilter/iptables
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P2
         Component: ip_tables (kernel)
        AssignedTo: laforge at netfilter.org
        ReportedBy: rubasov at gmail.com

I tried to use the quota match on a SMP system and it worked smoothly (no kernel
panic, byte counting is well done in a short test). On the contrary the manpage
from the iptables source tarball says: "KNOWN BUGS: this does not work on SMP
systems." I searched the netfilter bugzilla but I found nothing related to this.
Which one should I believe? Will the quota match work reliably? Or the manpage
refers to a real bug? What kind of bug? (It is a bug in the manpage only IMHO.)

I don't think this counts, but my config:
Linux kernel: 2.6.20.6 (running on an EM64T box, kernel and userland is 64 bit)
patch-o-matic-ng: TIME, condition, IPP2P, ACCOUNT, geoip
iptables: 1.3.7 (tar.bz2 from ftp.netfilter.org)
distribution: Debian Etch (but I'm using the iptables source tarball, not the
Debian package)

thanks in advance: Bence Romsics
