Chillispot (a captive portal application) connects the client. The process is 
the following:

1. The win client just requests an ip.
2. Chillispot serves this ip though its tun0 interface
3. After web authentication, requests are allowed to pass from tun0 to eth0

One question...what do you refer with "the latest -git kernel"?
