Ok, the ipw2200 device doesn't support this (at least I only get "Operation not
supported"), the tg3 device seems to have checksumming enabled:

t43p:~# ethtool -k eth0
Offload parameters for eth0:
rx-checksumming: on
tx-checksumming: on
scatter-gather: on
tcp segmentation offload: off

I'll retry with the latest 2.6.16 release candidate after setting

  ethtool -K eth0 rx off tx off sg off

and report back.
