logging firewall connections ?

I'm using the RC.Firewall stronger script as my firewall template.
basically I need to customize it load the pptp filtering module. my
questions come with regards to logging. how does it log the connections.
I need to be able to log outgoing connections and incoming. I'm working
with SuSE8.0 no X install...
