Actually, while not being a perfect solution, I just set my scripts to log at
log level alert, and then uses syslog to log kern.alert to a separate log as
well as /var/log/messages. So theoretically, other alert level things can log
there, but it very rarely ever does. it's a kludge, but it works.
My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.
