missing kernelparameters for icmp-protokoll

hi guys,

iptables version 1.2.3 is running on my linux-system (kernel 2.4.12) since 6
weeks an i am very happy about all the new possibilities. now i have a
question, i could not solve yet:

a research in firewalling-samples disclosed, that there are some
kernel-parameters which had to be adjusted. i added a dozen of them in my
script but four of these parameters fail:

echo "5" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_destunreach_rate
echo "5" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echoreply_rate
echo "5" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_paramprob_rate
echo "10" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_timeexceed_rate

doing a "cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_destunreach_rate" shows that there a no
such kernel parameters available.

any suggestions? if yes, email me at my private email-adress
u-roller@t-online.de, because i am not a member of the mailinglist.

thanks in advance
