Not sure it's the firewall's fault. We're behind FW-1 and about 2-3 months ago
I started getting disconnected often (every 5-10 minutes, but sometimes
longer). We've also had complaints from users with MSN's IM client. I switched
to a different computer and all started working (but went from using AIM to
GAIM..Win98 to LINUX). Last week my wife at a totally different
location/provider/firewall started having the same problem. I have a feeling
either something subtle changed with the oscar servers, or something more
deep-rooted in the internet (routing, IP's, rogue server...who knows).
