iptables v1.2.3: can't initialize iptables table `filter': Module is wrong version

Sorry for the delayed answer.

The RPM package of the Mandrake distribution is broken. The iptables
must be compilled from the CVS tree.
(At the module loading process the child process exits with an 
error value, and the parent displays this error message.
I wasn't able to find the problem at the first strace ...)
