Subject: Questions about iptables
Hi~Greeting your team for me, please.
You did a good job for providing the software(iptables) in Linux world.
Thank you so much.
Recently, I learnt about iptables how-to documents. But I got many
questions.
I had lookup on internet by Google search engine, I still could not =
find the
answers.
Would you please help me.
Q1. Why iptables has three tables - filter, nat, mangle ? What do they =
work
?
Q2. If I want to do the port forward, which table should I set ?
Q3. If I want to do the NAT, which table should I set ?
Q4. Might I set the rules in the table filter and table nat at the same =
time
?
Q5. If I only set the table filter, should I DROP the other tables =
policy ?
Q6. I never found the table mangle documents. Where can I find it ?
Best Regards.
