Iptables Gettin' on!

Is there anyone who could tell me, how can i possibly set my sys. so that it
implements the rules i have made and set in iptables.rules file. I am using
Mandrake 8 and everytime i boot up, it just doesnt seem like it even does
implemnt those, besides -F Flush function in Mandrake 8 is not enabled
either. Any advice?
