Initial connection problems

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the first time. All rules are flushed
before adding the single rule mentioned previously, default policy on all
chains in all tables is accept. And ip_forward is 1 from the moment the
networking comes up :)

I managed to catch an instance of the hang using tcpdump, monitoring both
ppp0 and eth0. Logs to follow, as soon as I've filtered out the crap.
