NAT PREROUTING

I have established the following in my NAT PREROUTING
chain:

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -s 192.204.193.179 -j
DNAT --to 10.3.1.4

and the following in the POSTROUTING chain:

iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j SNAT
--to-source 192.204.193.178

The gateway is @ 192.204.193.178, and has a virtual IP
(192.204.193.179) assigned to the external interface.

This setup works fine for hitting my web server from
the outside, but when I try to hit the website, using
the public ip address, from within the private
network, no-go.  I would imagine that I'm just missing
something in a chain, but what might that be?
