best kernel version

I have seen a few posts regarding kernel versions being available and some
having issues and some more than others.  I am trying to setup RH 7.1 with a
kernel version (2.4.4 or higher) that seems (to most people if possible) to
be the most secure or least amount of issues at the moment.  Anyone and
everyone put their 2 cents in on this one please so I can see what the
majority of peoples issues are.
