getting extensions to work

I have redhat 7 and kernel 2.4.6 & Iptables 1.2.2
I tried to apply some (ah, esp, multiport, ULOG) patches with patch-o-matic.
Rebuilt the kernel but I still cannot use these extensions/targets.
I am just trying to see if I am able to issue iptables commands with these
targets. But I get syntax errors like this tar/match/extension not found
etc.

How can I check if these patches are applied successfully?
