Help! What's going on in 2.4?

I followed the old IPCHAINS-HOWTO to do the "serious example," which is a
pretty good approximation of what I've got. However, I have finally run into
a problem. I am trying to FTP and find that I can't. When I look for the
ip_masq_ftp module, I find that I can't. So I, being the good little boy
that I am, started reading about iptables.

1) I just want to get going with FTP and get on with my life. I've already
spent hours with this now, and I'm annoying my wife.

2) Are the old ipchains modules still around (in RedHat 7.1) and I'm just
not finding them? If so, where?

3) Is there some place on the net that someone has re-done the "serious
example" from the ipchains HOWTO in the new iptables format? I don't want to
have to reinvent the wheel.

Sorry to be so short. I usually try to figure stuff like this out on my own,
but I just want to upload my huge, newly-renovated, now-FrontPage-free web
site to my provider.

Thanks,
dk
