LOG target

If I specify -j LOG in a user-defined chain, and a catch-all rule like -j
DROP, will it hit the second rule, or does LOG automatically drop the
packet?

(Sorry if this a dumb question) I"m looking at the HOW-TO, and it seems like
the examples in the very end suggest it continues thru the chain after
logging.

Thanks, (havent played yet, just read - otherwise I would try it and try to
answer my own question !)
