Solving_Error_Message

After I tried to upgrade from RedHat 2.4.2-12 iptables-1.2.1a to RedHat =
2.4.7 iptables-1.2.2.
 I got this error message:
" VFS: Cannot open root device "806" or 08:06
  Please append a correct "root=3D" boot option
  kernel panic : VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 08:06 "
I don't know where wrong is? Could you give me some hint or solution...
