nfcache and caching

Hi,

Has anyone already implemented the caching of packet
details for packets that do not require the rules to
be applied for them based on nfcache. 

Is a caching feature even required for netfilter
running on todays systems? It will definetly improve
performance in terms of throughput for normal traffic,
but I am not sure about how much. I was thinking about
working on this. Any suggestions are welcome.
