Have you tried to replicate the problem with a defective NIC?  Here is an
example of how to replicate the problem:

eth0 is okay
eth1 is okay
eth2 has a defect that requires rx offload to be disabled.

bridge eth1 and eth2 as br0 and then arrange computers/interfaces for testing
eg. one computer connected via each physical ethernet port.

observe simple ping traffic between:
 1) computer attached to eth0 and computer attached to eth1.
 2) computer attached to eth0 and computer attached to eth2.

enable netfilter (eg. use SNAT) & change IP addresses of computers as necessary
and repeat above observation.

I last tried with Kernel 3.3.5
