Not entirely clear what you're trying to get to match.  This total:

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT 372862 packets, 89753461 bytes)

only shows what matched the policy.  It will not necessarily match
the number of packets which have traversed the chain.

Seems more like a misunderstanding on your part than a bug.  Please confirm, and
close if so.
